Large-scale Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and applying penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles attacked energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the city endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks follow nights of air raids in the area, sections of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
